What could be more delicious than a VFX project for Starbucks? Garbanzo was hired to add some visual flair to the in-camera footage. The client wanted the spots to feel more festive, with additional snowflakes, bokeh, sparkles, and overall dazzle.

Four :06 spots were enhanced with VFX: “Holiday Trio”, “Caramel Brulee Latte”, “Peppermint Mocha”, and “Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte”.

VFX Breakdowns

The client came to us with some great turntable footage, but wanted a little extra oomph. We added and subtracted differing amounts of bokeh, glimmer, atmospherics, and particulate…until it was just right.

We even added some super subtle sparkles on the beverages and supers. Let us know if you spot them!

A surprising amount of roto was required for the background composite, along with tracking for the product sparkles (which were eventually removed in the end).

We hope these subtle effects make these already delicious drinks that much sweeter!
